By starting this course, you agree that:
- We collect your email address, language settings and course activity to help track progress, issue certificates, and improve the course.
- Any name, photo, or profile details you add are optional and can be deleted by you.
- We do not share or sell your personal data.
- Your data is used anonymously for project reporting and kept for up to 5 years.
- You can ask to see, correct, or delete your data anytime — including inside the course.
As part of your participation in the Back on Track online course, we collect and process a small amount of personal data to support your learning and improve the course. This Privacy Policy explains how we use your data and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

🔐 What data do we collect?
We collect only the data needed to help you learn:
- Your email address – used to track your progress and send certificates
- Your language setting – used to show course content in the language you selected. This helps improve your learning experience
- Your course activity – such as time spent, completed modules, or skipped units
Optional data: If you choose to upload your name, photo, or profile information, this is voluntary and can be changed or deleted anytime in your profile settings.
If you want to receive a certificate, you will need to add your full name for the issuing of the certificate after course completion.
Using the Moodle app: The same data is collected as if you access the course in a web browser, including device type and IP address.
📊 Why do we collect this data?
Your data helps us:
- Track your learning progress and issue certificates
- Understand how the course is used (e.g. which modules are popular or challenging)
- Report statistics to improve the course and meet project requirements
✅ We never sell your data or share it with third parties without your permission.
❌ We do not collect sensitive personal information (e.g. health or background details).
⏳ How long is your data stored?
We store your data for up to 5 years after the course ends. This is required for reporting to funders and to support learners who return later.
After this time, all personal data will be anonymised or deleted.
❌ Can you delete your data?
Yes. You have the right to:
- See what data we have
- Ask to correct or delete it
You can make these requests:
- Directly inside the course
- Or by contacting: backontrack@oejab.at
If you delete your data, your certificates, badges and course history will also be removed.
✅ Legal Basis
We collect and use your data based on your consent under GDPR Article 6(1)(a).
You give this consent by agreeing to this policy before starting the course.
🌐 Third-Party Tools
To deliver this course, we use a few trusted external tools:
- YouTube – for videos
These tools may collect basic technical data like your IP address.
We do not control or access this data directly, but we choose providers that follow strong privacy standards.
